What fit advice actually means
Runs small, true to size, size down. Decoding the phrases everyone repeats.

1. True to size, compared to what
Treat true to size as a brand recommendation, not a guarantee. Compare your foot measurements with the chart for the exact shoe, because size labels can differ between brands.
2. Width matters as much as length
Length alone does not settle fit. If you need a wide shoe, look for an explicitly offered width. A bulky silhouette or stretchy looking upper is not evidence of a wide fit.
3. Measure once, properly
Stand on paper, mark heel and longest toe, measure in centimetres and compare with each brand's chart. Then check the return policy before you order.
